About

I shot my first wedding in May of 2008, in Findlay, Ohio. It was then that I realized I was meant to be a wedding photographer. I love being able to capture emotions and the joy in the air on a wedding day in photograph. Capturing people in photograph: the pure joy of a child jumping, a hug from dad, or a baby’s first few days of life, are just a few of the many moments that I would do about anything to be able to capture. I have been found on top of my car, running around barefoot, laying flat on the ground, on a roof or hanging out a window to get the best shot I can of a moment.

I graduated in 2010 from Ohio Institute of Photography specializing in Portrait Photography. I am also an active member of W.P.P.I. and P.P.A., A Bride’s Mafia in Cincinnati, and part of Buy Local Dayton. I always was awarded Bride’s Choice 2013 from WeddingWire.com where I hold a 5 out of 5 star rating.

I have been known to purchase products based on cool packaging alone. I am in a fr-uple (For those of you who don’t know what is a Fr-uple it is a Friend-Couple), we share Jersey Mike’s Veggie Subs with half the cheese and a true love for McDonald’s Diet Coke.

I received my first digital camera at my 15th birthday from my parents; I could tell my mom picked it out because it had a rhinestone for a shutter button. Don’t worry, I have upgraded since, but I do still have it. See, my mom would put rhinestones on anything if it holds still long enough. Even if it is a little out there, I never met anyone who didn’t smile when they were surprised by rhinestones in random places. By random I do mean like on the walls in her ½ bath, the rear view mirror in several cars, and of course all electronics. But in all seriousness I got my first photography job based on the pictures I took on that camera – giving a whole new meaning to “its not the camera it is the photographer.” J

What is in my bag?

GEAR: Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm 2.8, Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 24mm 1.8, Portable Flash and an assortment of fun other things.

Have Camera, Love to Travel! In fact New York City is my all time favorite city that I have been able to go to yet.

Growing up in our family pizza restaurant is probably where I get my undying love for pizza. All jokes aside, pizza is my favorite breakfast, my favorite lunch, and my favorite dinner. I love it in a car, I love it with pepperoni, I love it on a train, I love frozen pizza, and of course pizza that is delivered. Growing up in a family owned and operated pizza business most certainly explains how our family has stayed close all our lives, and how we would make a pretty great reality TV show.

My idea of working out is editing photographs while sitting on an exercise ball and though it is pretty old lady like of me I truly enjoy old TV Shows such as I Love Lucy, I Dream of Jeannie, Cheers, etc. And the only way I ever see the sunrise is because I haven’t gone to bed the night before yet. When people meet me they often think I am loud, its true I just am. I like to have a lot of fun and I have a ton of energy.

Thankfully my spouse loves my loud, energetic self enough to marry me on 7.19.2013 in West Chester Ohio at our blue vintage, D.I.Y. wedding. My wedding might have been the reason I became addicted to pinterest and etsy. I fall more in love every single day.

I have a dream to photograph every type of wedding before the end of my career, or at least as many different types that I can. I have had the honor of photographing maybe different weddings already from many different Christian church ceremonies, a Muslin ceremony, an Indian ceremony, civil ceremonies, Hindu ceremonies, elopements, same sex weddings, and so on. I can’t wait to see more. I love how each culture/religion has unique ways to show marriage and love and joy. From the colors, to the music to the traditions each wedding is unique and beautiful because when everything is all set aside, a wedding is most beautiful because of the couple that is celebrating this new chapter in life together!
